Transforming long distance love into a normal relationship

by Gayla McCord on May 19th, 2006

I’ve known so many people who have met on the Internet, have created very nice working relationtionships via the net and have transformed those relationships into a normal “real life” relationship.

Personally, I don’t think I would ever be the type of person that could do such a thing because I am so programmed by society to have my physical gratification NOW - not meaning the sexual aspect - but the touching, holding hands, hugging and of course the kissing.

To me those are very much a part of a relationship and when a relationship has too many miles between them, I just don’t know how they make it work.

Anyone have any tips for making a long distance relationship work?

The first four years of my marriage was intercontinental. I think that constant communication and sharing of ordinary everyday events helped us keep in touch with each other. That and being so manically busy with work that we had no time to really dwell on anything.

Just because someone does internet dating doesn’t mean it is long distance or ever was. None of mine were…I talked to guys in my same city, so once we were ready to meet we picked a PUBLIC restraurant etc. :P

Wow Hsien, I had no idea. That’s really very cool! You’ve probably got some good advice for long distance couples! But then again, you’re a whole bag of good advice on a wide range of topics. I’m so jealous!

Better find out for your self and figure how well was going. I suggest you go to webdatedotcom and be acquainted to lots of friendly people there with lots of positive stories to tell about your query.
