The Movie Date
I had a friend call me up recently who had been out on her second date with a man she met online. The first date was really a “let’s see if we really want a second date date” so in my opinion, didn’t count as a date.
So anyway, the day of their second date rolled around and the man decided to take my friend to a movie.
It’s not that my friend was complaining at all about going to the movie, it’s that I AM!
What was this guy thinking? What that tells me is that the guy is shying away from communication.
Guys, if you are truly interested in a lady, don’t take her to the movies until at least date number 5. Let her know you have at least some communication skills and that you aren’t going to be the remote control commando if the relationship progresses that far.

I’m kind of yes and no on this point. I do agree that going straight to a movie theater is a great way for most men to avoid communication (I’ve experienced that firsthand), but there are exceptions.
The first exception has to do with movie buffs. I have seen hundreds, if not thousands, of movies in my life time and really enjoy great film. Sometimes the movie the guy insists on seeing or is willing to see with me, tells me a lot of what i need to know in that arena.
The second is the movie communicator. I’m currently dating someone who loves to talk during movies. He keeps it very quiet and maybe uses it as an excuse to whisper in my ear, but it was a great ‘getting to know you experience’ on our first few dates. We saw a mediocre movie and he made it enjoyable by making making jokes about it with me. Never had I enjoyed a somewhat bad movie so much.
Just thought I’d throw that out there, so that it’s not construed as a completely bad thing every time :)
