Thanksgiving and Dating

by Gayla McCord on November 11th, 2006

According to a survey of 1,000 singles, 35% said the worst part about Thanksgiving is not having a date. Not surprising considering 44% expect to be asked about their love life at least 5 times during the holiday season.

If you catch your cousin and your date flirting during Thanksgiving dinner, how do you handle the situation? 39% would be rational and ask their date to explain themselves, while 10% said they would catch them in the act of flirting, wait till everyone has had a few drinks and confront them in front of the whole family.

84% of singles said if the Thanksgiving dinner they have with their date’s family turns out to be not as tasty as what they are used to at home, they would still force it down with a smile and compliment the chef. 7% would pretend like they are not feeling well and not eat anything. 4% would be brutally honest and tell them the turkey is a little dry, the gravy is runny and the potatoes are too lumpy.

I just love the survey’s that It’s Just Lunch comes up with.

Seriously, have you ever been in the situation where your cousin was flirting with your date?

I have!  BUT I, on the otherhand took my date around that cousin because I knew she’d flirt with him IF I said I really liked him.  Turned out to be the most creative way I ever “dumped” a guy.

What would you do if you were at a family dinner and your cousin and date were flirting with one another?

It could happen!  Might as well be prepared, should the situation arise.
