Relish the Unexpected
I’m talking about gifts. Receiving the unexpected — material or otherwise.
Don’t you enjoy those moments wherein you are faced with a bunch of flowers, sometimes presented in public and other times in an intimate setting — without any reason or agenda? Er, I’m sure some cynical women may think that something’s up if something like that happens to them but, hey, let’s think positive, ladies! LOL.
Personally, I love surprises. I love getting gifts. I love the special feeling it brings. That’s why when I recently got a bouquet of red roses, my heart melted. Awww. Such a huge thing since we haven’t had a chance to spend time with each other, just to hang out or something for quite sometime. And I’ve been dead tired and sick the past few weeks. It was such a sweet, sweet gesture.
My delight even doubled when I saw that my mum got a bouquet of her own. I could squeeze him to death for making my mum feel that special!
This is one of the things about having a relationship that I want to savour. The unexpected often gives it the boost it needs.
What about you? Do you believe that unexpected gifts can be helpful to the relationship?

I have always tended toward more random special gifts than forced less meaningful gifts at holidays.
