Proof that online personals do work

by Gayla McCord on August 21st, 2006

“Steve3366″ is proof that online personals do work.

Steve3366 — or Rep. Steve Rothman as he is known outside JDate.com — is scheduled to marry Jennifer Anne Beckenstein today after the two discovered each other on the online network for Jewish singles.

The ceremony, to be performed in Nyack, N.Y., will be followed by a small reception that includes Rothman’s two children and Beckenstein’s three daughters, a spokeswoman for Rothman said.

The 53-year-old Democrat from Fair Lawn was initially miffed when his online personal ad was the subject of news reports two years ago.  Continue reading How they became the Rothman bunch

Congrats to Rep. Rothman and his bride!

Are you or someone you know the product couple of online personals?

Care to share your story and photo?

We could all use a little inspiration at times :)

My fiance and I are a product of Match.com. We started emailing and IMing back in Sept 2004, after he “winked” at me on Match.com. This went on for a month before we decided to meet for our first date, which was on October 21, 2004. So it is going on two years that we’ve been dating, he propose on June 30, 2006, and the wedding plans are underway. We have it planned for July 21, 2007. :)

I can’t figure out how to do a pic on here, but I do have them.

That is such a great story!

How long before we see you two on a commercial? You’re WAY cuter then those couples they have on eHarmony - and Match.com could use a little boost I’m sure :)

I’d be happy to post your success story and pics in a post for you here on Dating Dames if you like :)

Sounds good to me…just let me know what you need. I actually went to match.com to do some stuff on a success story and I’ve yet to hear from them. That was about a month ago. It was like filling out a profile, as they had questions, etc. Then they said they’d email you.
