Online Dating - false expectations?
Does online dating conjur up false expectations?
That’s the question being posted by Cupid’s Dating.
Certainly I think we’ve all been disappointed a time or two when meeting someone in person. Perhaps their photo was outdated or didn’t look like them at all? Perhaps the person see’s something totally different than what we see. It could be any number of things.
I’m not so sure if people intentionally lie in their profiles on dating sites or if they write the way the see themselves or even if they write what they think others want to read.
Do you think many people develope false expectations when it comes to online dating? Do you think the success rates might be a bit higher if people were to be more open to the possibility that a person might be quite different than what their profile implies?

I think that there will always be a time in an online daters experience that he/she will be dissapointed. It seems to be so easy to tell lies and have people believe them when you cant see their face. If you have a webcam(or even if you dont) you should try webdate.com, the only place I know of that has video chat rooms. You never have to worry about men lieing about their appearances because you can actually see them as they chat with you. My biggest online pet peeve is men telling me they look like celebrities! In the video chat rooms, for once, I could be the judge ;D

I have heard some stories of people going on there first date after talking to them online for months, then when they see them, they are not the peson who was on there profile. Thats pretty much the reason why I joined Webdate.com. This site has the option that many sites dont have, Video chat. On other sites you send e-mails or instant messages back and forth, here you can chat with that special someone and see them while you talk via web cams. Now tell me, If your chating on cam, can you hide yourself when you have the cam pointing strait to you face? I didn’t think so. Check it out and let me know what you think. Webdate.com
