New online dating site with a fresh new concept
A new Galway-based dating company is offering singles an alternative to handing out their phone numbers to strangers.
Checkmeout, started by Galway based entrepreneur Frances Cahill, allows people to build a profile and hand out ‘calling cards’ to potential partners.
According to Frances, handing out the cards ias a far safer, more secure alternative than giving out your mobile number.
Speaking to the Galway Independent this week, she said, “The whole concept of handing out your phone number to people can be a bit daunting. So I thought there must be a simpler way.”
With checkmeout.ie, people log onto the website and fill out a questionnaire. They are then sent out cards with a website address along with a pin number. If they see someone out they like, they can simply hand them the card, which allows them to see their details on-line.
Frances adds, “If you’re out in a nightclub, a bar or in town and you see someone you like, you can hand them the card. They’ll then go onto the website, which naturally they will because of curiosity.”
The website allows people to chat on-line and exchange emails. Frances stresses that if someone is pestering you, you can simply change your pin number.
www.checkmeout.ie was launched on Thursday 17 August and there are already hundreds of members. The first batch of cards was sent out to members earlier in the week. source
Some of the larger services such as Match.com, PerfectMatch or eharmony.com
would be wise to catch on to this niche!
Even if they don’t offer that option, why not design and order your own free calling cards through VistaPrint’s printing offer with your online profile name and perhaps a location where your profile may appear - user name or whatever is going to be easiest for a person to contact you via online?
