Mixed verdict in online dating case
A man who told his dates tall tales of being a doctor, astronaut and spy was convicted Tuesday of two counts of sexual assault but found not guilty of raping seven women, who all told similar stories of blacking out or becoming unusually intoxicated during dates from 2003 to 2005.
I may be blond and I may not be a ‘professional’ according to certain standards, but I know enough to never:
1. Leave my drink with a virtual stranger to watch while I powder my nose.
and
2. To let someone buy me a drink that the bartender doesn’t make for me himself and hand deliver.
Not saying these ladies deserved what they got, but people! There is a time and place to be overly cautious and meeting someone from online in person for the first time is ONE of them.
