It’s not a popularity contest!
Dating is not a popularity contest!
Or is it? Eeek.
I reckon it’s enough that you admit to your active involvement in the scene but to take it so damn seriously to the point of keeping tabs to just how many guys asks you out and / or brag about just how much your date spends on you is simply silly — uh, make that ludicrous! Heh.
We have to admit that some are guilty of this. Eternally seeking for that trophy boyfriend or girlfriend to show off to your friends, family or your ex. Or just to get that envious look from your friends when you talk about luxurious gifts, romantic getaways or perhaps celebrity dates you had. Sheesh. Talk about mixed up priorities.
I repeat. Dating is not a popularity contest.
For me, dating is a way to find out if there’s chemistry, or potential love match with someone. Dating is time spent getting to know a possible mate. It’s a way to find or meet Mr. Right.
What do you think pushes some people to treat dating as if it’s a popularity contest? Why do you date? What are your own objectives?
