Is it cheating or flirting?
Well it appears that my favorite caveman is at it again - David Zinczenko is discussing the differences between men and women and their definitions of cheating.
Though I don’t agree with women who consider looking at other women cheating I have to chime in and say, I think it should be considered exactly HOW he’s looking. Is it glancing? Is it drooling with the chin in the lap?
I was once married to a man who used to point out features he liked on other women by saying things like “I wish you had big boobs like her” or “I wish you had longer legs like she has.” Though it may not be cheating, it’s very hurtful and those are words that may never be forgotten.
Now, to keep with the theme that David has set on his blog - I’d like to offer up the same questions he has to see how OUR audience defines cheating -
Here you go ladies -
1. Looking at another woman? Cheating or flirting?
2. Emailing an ex? Cheating or flirting?
3. Hanging out with a woman at work? Cheating or flirting?
4. Kissing another woman? Cheating or flirting?
5. Going to a strip club? Cheating or flirting?
I think I’ll address these individually in the next several topics to allow visitors to comment on each one with their own thoughts.
For now, be thinking about how you’re going to address each one and let’s get to the bottom of this cheating versus flirting debate.

It’s one thing to look at a woman and think she looks nice. It’s another thing to look at her and imagine what she looks like with no clothes on or imagine her in bed. I think glancing is ok and drooling is cheating.

Karen, well said.
I’ve always thought that marrying someone or being in a committed relationship didn’t mean the partner had died.
It’s human nature to have a ‘type’ you find attractive and to take a second look when they pass you by… but to drool, well, that’s a whole different ballgame.

Some may not agree, but I agree with what the Bible says. It says if a man looks at a woman and lusts after her, then he has committed adultery in his heart.
That goes along with my drooling theory.

Personally, I wouldn’t consider it cheating if he’s even drooling. Now, if he takes an extra step to initiate something between the two then, yeah, there’s a problem there. I guess I’m more worried about the emotional cheating than the physical. I would dread if my spouse wasn’t lusting for a woman but she was always on his mind. That’s when it hurts the most. I am not implying that lust is right neither.
Note: I have agnostic beliefs.
