Initiating Conversations
I’ve observed that it’s a common notion that when someone initiates a conversation with a stranger, it automatically means an expression of interest. It doesn’t really matter if it’s a guy coming up to a girl or vice versa. Simply, when two people find themselves in that situation, they would assume that there’s interest from the initiator.
Hmmm. Curious.
Perhaps I’m naive because I’m a little dubious about this whole thing. To be quite honest, I don’t automatically think a guy is “interested” in me when they spark up a conversation because if I turn the tables around and I initiate the act, it wouldn’t automatically mean I’m interested in that man I’ll talk to, know what I mean?
What about you? Would you agree to the statement that “when someone initiates a conversation with a stranger, it automatically means an expression of interest”? I sure know somebody who does and is adamant that it’s factual “no matter how indirect an act it was.” :mrgreen:

IMO, no, for sure NOT. I have initiated conversations with men (and women) just to be friendly, or encouraging or helpful, or out of boredom…tons of reasons. Now - the LOOK you give when starting the conversations conveys whether or not you are interested. That is a given. A little spark in the eyes, perhaps a coy smile. But not just a conversation.

hello!i think this is not true everytime,when someone initiates a conversation with a stranger, it automatically means an expression of interest.sometime we are invovled emotionally for a few seconds,love to talk to him/her,but that is not love..

I agree with the two previous posts. For women talking to men I think it can go either way, but for men, 9 times out of 10 its a show of interest
