How many times should you forgive a cheater?

Letter from a Dating Dames Reader:

Dear Dating Dames,

How many times should a person forgive a cheating partner? I’m asking because my girlfriend is going on her fourth time of forgiving a guy she was dating. She just e-mailed me and I’m shocked that she would even consider throwing away a nice relationship with me to return to a guy that’s cheated several times before.

Forgiveness is easiest part - forgetting is impossible.

In any relationship where trust has been broken, there will always be the cloud of doubt that looms overhead. Every time the person is even 10 minutes late, the questions will begin haunting the forgivers every thought.

While it’s easy to see from the outside that she should have moved on after the first time - she didn’t. It’s my opinion that just like the old saying goes… Fool me once, shame on you…Fool me twice, shame on me.

If a person allows a cheater to cheat a second time, they’ve created the situation enabling them to do so and have no one else to blame but themselves.

Life is a series of lessons we are forced to repeat until we learn the lesson that’s being taught.

It’s truly astounding at just how many people appear to like suffering repeatedly by practicing the same foolish mistakes and then turn around to question the same end results.

Once a cheater, always a cheater!

If you’re in a relationship with a woman that keeps going back to a cheater, you’re better off cutting your losses now and not wasting anymore time. That gal is broke and she isn’t anywhere near fixable yet.
