Can you be friends with an ex?
Q: My ex girlfriend left me for another guy without ever giving explanation for the breakup which left me to wonder and later find out it was for another guy.
A year later I’ve found myself in a relationship with someone really nice when my ex calls me saying stuff like ‘you don’t know how good some things are until they’re gone’ and ‘I miss you’ and ‘why can’t we be friends?’
Is it possible to be friends with an ex?
It will be interesting to see what readers have to say, but in my honest opinion, I don’t think placing the new relationship in the potentially uncomfortable position is worth it.
The absolute best advice anyone ever gave me when it comes to relationships is to stop, place your partner in the exact same position you are in and act in the way you’d like them to act.
If you’d have no problem with the new girlfriend being friends with an ex, taking those “missing you” calls and so on, go for it. If not, you won’t regret your decision or feel the least bit of guilt later on.

You’ll never know the whole story, so don’t fret about these things.
Have you ever had a relationship not work out in high school or college, and always wonder about it? Then you find out it was something completely random that caused your breakup or him/her not liking you? These things happen all the time. It could have been a parental problem, or anything else.
