Boys to men, did they even grow up?
It’s been said that when guys were bunch of little kids learning the concept of attraction, they’d often show it, er, somewhat differently. What do I mean different? Well, sometimes, they act completely the opposite of what they feel. For instance, a boy would start pulling the pigtails or ponytails, fine, the hair of a girl that they’re starting to like. Or would tease them mercilessly and make the girl cry. It’s like, the more intense their so-called attraction is, the more than they would try to show that they “hate” the girl.
Funny, yeah?
Well, now, I’m beginning to think if they even grow up? I mean, I still see grown men use this “technique” thinking that it best masks their feeling for the woman that they’re attracted to. I still see grown men tease women mercilessly to the point of making them cry. I’ve noticed that the more that he’s attracted to the woman, the more effort he puts in distancing himself from her, esp when he thinks it won’t be reciprocated.
I would understand some of the reasons why guys act the way they do even when they’ve grown up. Some are reasonable while others are not. It’s just that I find it silly and, sometimes, adorable on how similar their actions are to a little boy starting out with a crush on a girl he sees in the playground.
Well, these are just personal observations. Feel free to contradict. Hehe.

Well when a guy’s like that it’s probably because (1) yes he didn’t grow up; (2) he’s just really not into the girl; (3) he couldn’t accept the fact that he likes the girl; or (4) he’s gay. LOL.

If he’s not into the girl they why be affected AT ALL? Third one makes sense and yea, if you do start picking a fight a girl, it seems gay-ish to me (no offence meant)

If a guy behaves this way it might be that he is clueless on how to manage his vulnerable feelings.
It happens often with guys who weren’t brought up with girls (like sisters). They haven’t learned to express feelings of empathy and caring. It is one of THE way to a girl’s heart.
